Annual Election Dinner

2010 February 1

The Polish National Catholic Church is made up of baptized Christians who worship together, partake of the sacraments, hear and obey the Word of God. In the PNCC Parish property is owned by the people who purchase, build and maintain it. Annual meetings are part of our democratic Church’s process for accountability to its people. The PNCC is a Church where each member has a voice and a vote.

Our annual Election Dinner will be held after Holy Mass on Sunday, February 21. We are a democratic church and all parishioners are encouraged to participate in this important event.

Polish National Catholic Church Continues Tradition

Our Pastor, Fr. Rafał Dadello, is continuing the tradition of blessing homes during the period between Christmas and The Presentation of the Lord Feast, February 2nd which is the Polish feast day Matki Boskiej Gromnicznej (Our Lady of the Thunder Candle).

The visits by the priests to bless the homes of the faithful are known as Kolęda. This word is derived from a similar Polish word which refers to Christmas carols and hymns. The carolers wound their way through the towns and villages, sharing the beautiful hymns to share the message of peace, love and salvation that was brought to the world by the baby of Bethlehem. In America, Christmas decorations often appear before Thanksgiving and they are gone shortly after New Year’s Day. The Polish tradition is to decorate at the end of Advent and to enjoy the beauty of the decorations into February. Thus the true meaning of Christmas is carried well into the new year.

Anyone is welcome to contact Fr. Dadello at (315) 823-0793 to schedule a Kolęda visit and home or apartment blessing.

Holy Spirit Polka Festival Fun

2009 September 15

Members of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, PNCC, of Little Falls held their annual Polka Fest on Saturday September 12th at the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club. Approximately 100 people enjoyed the music of Bill and Ed’s Polka Band and the delicious homemade Polish Food.

The dance is one of the major fund raisers for the tiny parish and the support of the community was greatly appreciated.

The Polish National Catholic Church is similiar to the Roman Catholic Church in certain respects but different in others. Some of the differences between the denominations are that the PNCC allows its clergy to marry and that the PNCC is a democratic Church where the people own the parish property, manage its finances, and determine its future.

Holy Mass is normally offered at the church on 615 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls at 11 a.m. on Sunday in English. All are welcome regardless of of background or ethnicity. To learn more about the parish please call Fr. Dadello at 315-823-0793.
