On Monday August 2nd, members of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, PNCC, of Little Falls raised funds to support their small parish by selling Polish food at the Utica Monday Night celebration in Chancellor Park. This is the fourth year that the congregation provided the cuisine during this festive event. The beautiful weather helped to produce a large turnout. Gansevoort St. Little Falls. Meals will be served in the parish hall. Takeout meals and frozen pierogi will also be available.

On Saturday September 18th the church will be hosting its annual Polka Fest from 1 to 5 at the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club. Tony’s Polka Band will be playing. A full menu of homemade Polish food will be served.

Holy Mass is normally celebrated at the church on 618 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. People of all ethnicity and backgrounds are welcome.

Members of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, PNCC, of Little Falls held their 84th annual parish meeting on Sunday February 21st. The parish was formed in 1926. The new committee, elected at the meeting, is Chairperson John Rogers, Vice-chair Teddie Colorito, Treasurer Francis Crandall, Financial Secretary Karen Filipski, Recording Secretary Janice Kupidlowski-Rogers and Directors Suzanne Bladek, Joan Crandall, Amy Brien, Tim Brien, Anita Dulak, Jimmy Filipski, Ron Hrobuchak and Gary Crandall.

The parish maintains a cemetery on Route 5 in East Herkimer. The cemetery committee members are Chairman Teddy Wojicki, Tim Brien, Jimmy Filipski, Mark Wojcicki, Jennifer Crandall, Suzanne Bladek, Cheryl Crandall and Ron Hrobuchak.

The PNCC was organized in Scranton, PA in 1897. Some of the differences between the denomination and Roman Catholic Church are that PNCC priests are allowed to marry and that the PNCC is a democratic church where the people control the finances of the Parish and elect the bishops of the Church. The Bishops of the Church cannot force a Parish to close or merge, only the people who own and maintain the Parish can make that decision for themselves.

Holy Mass is normally offered at our Parish at 11 a.m. on Sundays. People of all ethnicities and backgrounds are welcome. Holy Mass is celebrated in English though Polish hymns are often sung. To learn more about the parish please call Fr. Rafal Dadello at (315) 823-0793.

Members of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, PNCC, of Little Falls held their annual Polka Fest on Saturday September 12th at the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club. Approximately 100 people enjoyed the music of Bill and Ed’s Polka Band and the delicious homemade Polish Food.

The dance is one of the major fund raisers for the tiny parish and the support of the community was greatly appreciated.

The Polish National Catholic Church is similiar to the Roman Catholic Church in certain respects but different in others. Some of the differences between the denominations are that the PNCC allows its clergy to marry and that the PNCC is a democratic Church where the people own the parish property, manage its finances, and determine its future.

Holy Mass is normally offered at the church on 615 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls at 11 a.m. on Sunday in English. All are welcome regardless of of background or ethnicity. To learn more about the parish please call Fr. Dadello at 315-823-0793.

From the Evening Times: Six women to be honored by Little Falls WCA

The Women’s Christian Association of Little Falls will honor six women who work to improve the quality of life in the community.

Diane Aulisi, Heidi Camardello, Angela Harris, Rose Noble, Sophia Sokol and Giorgina Talarico will be recognized for their accomplishments and achievements during the fifth annual Women of Distinction breakfast on Wednesday, May 27, at the Knights Inn, Little Falls.

Diane Aulisi, owner of the Little Falls Curves for almost four years, is being honored in the business and industry category.

Aulisi specializes in the wide range of programs and services that Curves, a fitness center designed especially for women, offers, including weight management classes, aerobic exercise and strength training. Aluisi’s expertise allows her to assist in giving women of the community, regardless of their age, size or fitness level, an opportunity at fitness and weight loss in a fun, fast and safe environment.

In addition to being described by her nominators as someone who inspires women at her fitness center to “become a healthier you,” Aulisi also gives back to the community by encouraging Curves members to help support various charitable organizations and causes. Aulisi and her members regularly collect food for the Little Falls Food Pantry, school supplies for local schools and make monetary donations to St. Jude Research Hospital, breast cancer awareness efforts and the MDA’s Helping Jerry’s Kids effort.

Aulisi graduated from SUNY Brockport with a teaching degree and has been substituting in the Little Falls City School District for the past 20 years. Prior to owning the Curves franchise, she spent 10 years as an accountant, secretary and clerk for her father’s business, the Valley Waste Company. She also served as financial secretary for Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church for five years.

Aulisi has recently gone back to school and received her Cooper Institute Certificate for successfully completing Curves Club Camp and earning academic credits in the fields of kinesiology and nutrition.

She has lived most of her life in Little Falls and is married to Frederic Aulisi. They have two children, a son Jeffrey and wife Kiera, and a daughter Jennifer, who helps run Curves when she is home from college. They also have two grandchildren, Madisyn, 3, and Nicholas, seven months old.

…

Tickets for the 8 to 9:30 a.m. event are $10 and may be purchased from members of the WCA board or at the WCA on Garden Street. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Congratulations and God’s blessings to Diane and to all of the honorees.

Confirmation imprints on our soul that sacramental character, which entitles us to the strength needed to show our faith in word and deed. The sacramental grace of confirmation helps us to live our faith loyally and to profess it courageously.

Our confirmation is the completion of baptism because: By baptism we are made members of Christ’s Church; and by confirmation we are strengthened to live a Christian life within the Church and defend its truths.

The gifts of the Holy Ghost are: wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, strength, Godliness and fear of the Lord – from A Catechism of the Polish National Catholic Church, 316, 318, 319, and 321.

We pray that you be strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Ghost, and we welcome you to join with us in the work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
